Petra Kucan is a Dublin based Clinical Psychologist. Originally from Croatia, Petra has been in Dublin for nearly ten years. During this time Petra has worked with children in a Dublin school, as a translator during psychiatric therapies and as a psychologist. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Psychology(B.Sc.Psych) and Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology (M.Sc.Clin.Psych) from University of Rijeka, Croatia. Her accreditation include a membership of Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and Croatian Psychological Chamber (CPC) and Croatian Association for Behavioural Cognitive therapy (CABCT).
At the start of 2016 Petra opened her private practice in “Rathmines Clinic” after working as a psychologist in Dublin.
Petra has extensive clinical, counselling and psychotherapy experience, gained through private practice and at the University hospital of Rijeka, Croatia. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings with all age groups through the stages of life.
She has 10 years of experience working on a prevention of adolescent risk behaviour and has been a Member of the City of Rijeka (Croatia) Advisory and Coordination Committee for Drug Abuse and Addiction Prevention.
Her clinical psychology training included clinical assessment, counselling and psychotherapy in psychiatry, neurology, audiology and gynaecology department and maternity and children’s hospital.
Petra treats a broad range of psychological difficulties. She provides psychological consultation, assessment, counselling and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults and families. As a clinical psychologist specialising in psychotherapy and other forms of psychological treatment (e.g., CBT), she has considerable experience in mental health assessment, formulation, treatment, and behaviour change. As part of her practice, she combines elements from several styles of psychotherapy and tailors the treatment according to the client’s needs.
Petra has been living in Ireland for nearly ten years and is settled in Dublin.
